Wow, I'm a REALLY big slacker!

Well, since it's been like 6 months since my last post, thought I'd just drop a little note so everyone knows we are still alive. I really don't know how to sum up the last 6 months other than we had a fabulous summer, doing TONS of different activities. McKenzie turned 2 and keeps Mom and Dad on their toes! Burton just started preschool and is doing so good. So there is a very short version of the last 6 months! I am always jealous when I read other people's blogs because they are so creative in their writing. I just tell it like it is, I guess :)

Oh yeah, and I did go New York in June, which was absolutely fabulous! The first night there we went to Times Square and I had SO much fun. It was so fun shopping at midnight, that's my kind of town! We also saw Wicked while there and it was absolutely amazing, my new favorite broadway play. It is such a different world there. I would never want to live there and raise my kids there, but I can't wait to go back someday!

Happy 10 Year Anniversary Honey!

Holy cow, 10 years, seriously?! How time does fly. Well, I've been trying to think of a way to tell my husband how much I love him, so I thought maybe I would do it on our blog, so everyone else can know how wonderful he is! So, I have come up with a list of 10 reasons why I love him:

1. He makes me laugh. The first thing that I liked about Brandon was that he was constantly making me laugh and he still manages to do it after 10 years.

2. He loves me unconditionally. I know I can be a pain in the butt sometimes :) But he always puts up with me and still loves me in spite of it all.

3. He never complains. He gets up and goes to work every day and I have NEVER heard him complain once about this. Now anyone who knows me, knows that I pretty much complain about everything, so this is a trait that I really admire in my husband. I know it must not be that fun to get up every day and go to work while I get to do the best job in the world and stay home with the kids, but he does it to provide for us and I appreciate it SO much.

4. As Dr. Laura says, he would cross shark infested waters to bring me a Diet Coke! I know without a doubt that my husband would do just about anything for me or my kids. He practically has swam through shark infested waters to bring me many a Diet Coke.

5. I can count on him to take care of us. I never have to worry that he would not do everything in his power to provide for his family. He would probably sell a kidney before he would let his family go hungry.

6. He is a wonderful Dad. He loves his kids to death and is a great father to them. He wants only the best for them and always wants to make sure they are protected.

7. He evens me out. I tend to be a little high strung and Brandon is very laid back, so he really helps to even me out. When I have had it up to my eyeballs with the kids, he is always there to rescue me!

8. He can't stay mad at me. Now this one might seem a little strange, but when I get mad, I can hold a grudge for a while. Not Brandon, he can't stay mad at me for more than like 10 minutes and even if he didn't cause the fight will come and apologize. I love this because I in turn forgive him and don't continue to hold a grudge for the next 2 days.

9. He is thoughtful. He is always thinking about other people and doing nice things for them. When we lived with my parents for several months, he would snowplow the driveway every time it snowed and mow the lawn almost every Saturday without ever being asked.

10. He loves the Lord. I know he has a close relationship with his Heavenly Father and looks to Him when making decisions for himself and our family.

Well, of course there are many other reasons I love him, but I wanted to do the top 10 since it's been 10 years. I know I don't do as good of a job as I should at telling you and showing you how much I love and appreciate you, but I will try harder. I do love you so much and I know we will have many more happy years together. Happy Anniversary!

My First Baby is 4!

Holy cow, I know I say this a lot, but time really flies. Burton just turned 4 this past Monday and I just can't believe how big he is getting and how fast it goes. We had a Spongebob party on Saturday with family and he loved opening his presents and eating cake. Brandon and I gave him a Leapster 2 and he has hardly put it down since he got it. I was afraid he wouldn't like it!

Then on Monday, we went to Chuck E Cheese. Burton has wanted to go to Chuck E Cheese ever since his last birthday and we have been telling him for the past year that he could go there for his next birthday, so obviously we had to take him. I was afraid it might not live up to his expectations, but we all had a blast playing games. Of course he has been asking ever since if we can go back, so we'll have to take him there again before his next birthday! I am so grateful for his sweet little spirit. He is such a good boy and so sweet to his little sister. Sometimes I'm not sure what I did to get such a sweet little boy.

As for McKenzie, she is also getting so big and starting to talk more and more (FINALLY!). For the most part she is a sweetheart, but man is she ever a girl! Oh the drama! She threw a full blown tantrum the other day and I just haven't had to deal much with that, so I left her in the family room to throw her tantrum and told her I would talk to her when she calmed down. After a few minutes of throwing a fit, she was back to being herself. Her personality is exactly like her mother, so we'll either be good friends or butt heads all the time!

Other than that, not much else going on. Well except that Brandon and I are going to celebrate out 10 year anniversary on Wednesday! More to come on that on Wednesday, so check back.

Times flies!

Wow, I can't believe it's been so long since my last post. I know I am not very good at updating this thing, but it never feels like it's been as long as it really has. I just get so busy with these little kiddos that the time just flies by.

So, things are going good, no big changes or anything. McKenzie has had a rough last couple months. I honestly think the poor girl has not felt good for over a month. She finally got tubes in her ears because she has had yet another ear infection. Then shortly after that came down with Roseola, then a few days after that she was throwing up. Plus on top of all of that, she is getting some of her molars. Whew! She was SO flippin ornery for about two weeks in there, that I really ever wondered if she was going to be normal again. Finally, yesterday and today, she has been like her old self again, just happy and cute as ever.

Burton is just getting so big and I can't believe he will be 4 soon. He is such a sweetheart and I hope and pray that never changes. He is so sweet to his little sister (most of the time) and just has such a sweet personality. I really need to start writing things down that he says because they are so funny and then of course later I can't remember them.

As for Brandon and I, we are doing good. Although, I think both of us are missing Phoenix right about now. It is SO flipping cold here right now, yikes!

My Baby is 1!

Okay, so I am a horrible mother, my baby turned one like 3 weeks ago and I haven't done a post about it. So, here it is. For her birthday, I rented a pavilion at the pool at the Kearns rec center because it was super cheap and because she LOVES the water. She had so much fun swimming and it was so nice because it wasn't crowded. She didn't get nearly as messy as I thought she would with her cake, but she really loved it. She just wasn't sure what to do with it. I gave her a big cupcake and she couldn't figure out how to get it in her mouth. Finally, I broke it up into little pieces and she went to town! I just can't believe that she is one already! That first year goes by so dang fast, one minute they are so tiny and you blink and they are twice as big and crawling around making messes everywhere! I wish they would stay little just a little while longer.

Cutest Kids Ever!

Okay, so I'm sure everyone thinks that about their own kids, but that's the way it should be, right?

I know this is very unusual for me to do this much posting, but I just had to share some pics that we had taken today for McKenzie's first birthday tomorrow. The pics turned out cute, but I was not very impressed with JCPenney this time around. Just a side note for anyone thinking about going there.

I can't believe my little girl is going to be one tomorrow. It blows me away how fast the time goes. I just love being a Mom and I'm so grateful that I get to stay home with my little angels and spend every day with them.

Thanksgiving Point

We went to Thanksgiving Point yesterday for the $2 Tuesdays and it was beautiful! The flowers were absolutely gorgeous and the weather was really nice, not too hot. I think Burton really liked it too because when we were done he asked if we could go look at everything again.

So, my Mom has been telling me I need to write something down that Burton says that cracks us all up, I am finally doing it. When he wants to know what choices he has for something he says "What do they have else?". It's pretty funny.

In my last post, I noted all these things that McKenzie was doing, but I can't believe I forgot to post about her crawling, DUH! She got a late start (about 10 months), but is crawling like a pro now. She also said her first official word the other day "Uh-oh". It was a very definite uh-oh and she only says it occasionally, but it definitely counts. Tonight, Brandon and I swear she was saying "Thank you". She said it several times and it was so cute. I can't believe my little girl is going to be one next week!
